sennheiser e604 vs e904

I own the e604s and have used them on a number of sessions. 57 on top/e604 underneath in the mix (with FX).2. I've seen several reviews that claim the e904 is somewhat comparable to an md421... Closer than the price gap would lead you to think.. I own 904's & love em! That is until I made the mistake of trying the 421 on my toms. I’d love to be able to A/B them sometime. But now since I'm on a slightly limited budget to purchase mikes for myself I wonder how the senhheiser e 604 or e 904 would compare?
